Lonestar West Inc. Announces Executive Change at the VP Finance and CFO Position

Lonestar West Inc. is pleased to announce that Mark Kearl, CA has joined Lonestar as its Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer. Effective immediately, Kristina Scade, the current Chief Financial Officer, will transition to a new position, Vice President, Internal Reporting.

Mr. Kearl brings extensive financial and operational experience in the energy services industry in both the Canadian and international marketplace. Most recently, Mr. Kearl spent eight years as Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Total Energy Services Inc., a Toronto Stock Exchange listed diversified energy services company. Prior to joining the energy services industry in 2005, Mr. Kearl spent five years at a national financial advisory services firm and four years with a national accounting and advisory services firm. Mr. Kearl received his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary in 1997 and his Chartered Accountant designation in 2000.

Springtime Sales in Bloom for Volkswagen Canada

May sales at Volkswagen Canada once again proved to be record-setting. A total of 7,367 new cars and light trucks were sold by the company, which was a 14% improvement over the same month last year (6,465). Year-to-date, sales of 30,520 are 25% ahead of the previous year (24,390).

“We continue to introduce new products to the market,” stated Maria Stenström, President and CEO of Volkswagen Group Canada. “The arrival of the Golf Sportwagon has given consumers another option in the Golf family.”

The hatchback Golf, GTI and Sportwagon accounted for 2,021 sales during the month, 360% more than the 562 sold in May of 2014. Offering a choice of 2 or 4 doors, and either a hatchback or wagon bodystyle, the Golf has long been a favourite among Canadian consumers. In its 40+ year history, the car has sold over 30,000,000 copies, and continues to set the standard in the class.

On May 13, 2015, Silver Lining in the Cloud welcomed to the studio Rik Katz with Pak-Lite. Host Nikole Toptas spoke with Katz about the products and services provided by Pak-Lite and their corporate culture.

Katz serves as CFO with Pak-Lite, a leading manufacturer of underlayment for laminate, engineered and LVT flooring. They also produce foam, plastic, rubber and non-woven parts often with adhesive backing, for the automotive and light industrial industries.
